The legacy of Bob Marley

Born February 6, 1945 in the rural parish of St. Ann, Jamaica, one in the life of Robert Nesta Marley was no idea what kind of life this young son of a middle-aged white father and black adolescent mothers.

Known today as an icon in the world of reggae, Bob Marley is the first Jamaican artist reach the level of international celebrity. The musical adventure began at an early age. He left home at 14 to pursue a music career in Kingston, Jamaica, he became a pupil of local singer and devout Rastafarian Joe Higgs. He recorded his first single, "Do Judge not, "in 1962.

In 1963, Bob Marley teamed with singers, where Peter Tosh, Bunny Livingston, Junior Braithwaite, Beverly Kelso and Cherry Smith to form a vocal group of teenagers and, later rechristened the Wailing Rudeboys, and later simply the Wailers. The group signed with the legendary producer Studio One Coxsone Dodd and recorded a debut album, "I'm Still Waiting."

When Braithwaite and Smith left the Wailers, Bob Marley took lead in the voice functions, and in early 1964, the Group followed, "Simmer Down" topped the charts in Jamaica. A number of singles, as "Let Him Go (Rude Boy Get Gail)," "Dancing Shoes," "Jerk in Time", "who feels it knows" and "What am I be "followed, and in all, the Wailers recorded some 70 tracks before disbanding in 1966.

After his return to Jamaica Almost a year Later, Bob Marley re-formed the Wailers with Livingston and Tosh, releasing "Bend Down Low" on their short-lived Wail N 'Soul Label' Mr. It is about this time that Marley and the rest of the group is dedicated to the teaching of the Rastafarian faith, the cornerstone of the life of Bob Marley and the music up his death. The Wailers recorded a wealth of new material, including "My Cup," "Duppy Conqueror," "Soul Almighty" and "Small Ax.

1973 "Catch a Fire" is the first album Released outside the Wailers in Jamaica, and immediately received praise from around the world and respect in the industry. Monitoring, "Burnin 'the Released song "I Shot the Sheriff," later a Top Ten Eric Clapton in 1974. 1977 "Exodus" Bon Marley was greatest record to date, generating the hits "Jamming," "Waiting in Vain" and "One Love / People Get Ready." Uprising "was the last album released in the life of Bob Marley. He died May 11, 1981 at the age of 36 years of incurable cancer that had spread to the brain, lungs and liver.

Today, his legacy will live on.
