Planning a trip to Japan - and how to behave respectfully
In my capacity as Director of Operations for the United Kingdom A world tours Limited often ask me all sorts of issues travel. I personally believe that when you visit a different country to be respectful of their beliefs and customs of their hosts. So in the spirit, we've compiled some basic tips and rules to be observed during the visit to Japan.
By far the best and most effective Travel Japan Rail Pass is the train to travel for foreigners. You will need to purchase a change order before entering Japan can not buy when you're here and Travel Agents in your area will be able to tell you where to get one.
You must be eligible to step if you are visiting Japan for sightseeing time or a Japanese national who lives permanently in a foreign country.
Upon his arrival in Japan to go to an office of the Japan Rail Pass exchange or a travel service center are in the main train stations or airports JR. You must present your passport and change the order the day and tell them you want to start their journey.
This step will use the Japan Travel by train, ferry JR, JR and buses.
With the purchase of a pass green Japanese-style rail cars will use green (first class) at no extra cost.
The Japanese are very precise when it comes to common customs and I personally believe that as a foreigner is important to become familiar with some of the basics.
When visiting a temple or Temple is the common sense to behave with respect. This can be seen to make a short prayer before a sacred object. You can also show respect for what lay a coin into the box placement, followed by a brief prayer.
In some temples can buy a package, you can burn incense. If you have an injury or medical problem think the fan the smoke towards the lesion is great healing properties of this.
Some temples are can be expected to remove their shoes, you can leave comments on the shelves or take them with you.
Visiting a temple is expected to be healthy to prevent entry in all the impurities. So, before entering a sanctuary that should clean their hands fresh water drawn at the source of purification. People also rinse your mouth with cool water, spitting out the source. It is not compulsory however.
You will be allowed to take pictures inside the temple, but there will be signs allowed inside so you know what permitted.
Make sure you have tissue when you visit a public bathroom, and it is not always roll of toilet paper or drying hands. There are Western toilets and washrooms in Japan most places for wheelchairs and toilets have always been at the stations and areas of the temple.
Japan welcomes the other with a bow, but they do not expect foreigners to know proper bowing rules then Japanese nod is usually sufficient.
Older men sometimes use in their establishments face working class, but are considered impolite to do so. In addition, not to blow his nose in it.
Here are some rules for you to consider the table when dining out. You will hot towels before meals that can be used for hands because it is considered bad manners to use on her face.
Blow your nose in public is considered bad especially when the dining table.
Japan to consider an empty plate manners, but it is not burp. When you've finished your meal try to remember to put all their dishes, as they were at the beginning of the meal. Remember to replace cover plates and replace their chopsticks chopsticks holder. Speaking of sticks that there are many rules on how to use them effectively. I bare bones here.
Do not stick chopsticks into food, especially rice, food or send them directly to someone else in the glue. Do not use chopsticks to spear food with. Spoons are sometimes used to eat Japanese dishes that are difficult to eat with chopsticks, forks and knives are used only for the Western diet.
5 What to bring - Finally, here are some things you can or rather disbelieved. Electric. If you need to take a camera in your country, make sure you bring a converter or plug. U.S. aircraft can be used Japan without a converter but it has less power. You will need a two-pronged plug and you will be able to buy converters and plugs airports. Better still buy one before you travel.
It is advisable to search for ATMs Citibank trying to earn money Like most Japanese ATMs do not accept international cards Visa, etc. in their machines because of the fact that the magnetic strip on the back is much thinner than ours.
The yen is the Japanese currency. MasterCard or Visa may be used in department stores, hotels and restaurants in major cities. If, however, travel to the countryside of Japan, you may find that controls on credit cards / traveler 's can not be accepted. If is a good idea to make the Japanese currency with you, be sure to remain vigilant in areas where pickpockets are plentiful, as the crowded trains, etc.
Last but not least to avoid embarrassment in the wake of the Japanese tradition of removing their shoes, make sure the socks no holes in them!
Have great holiday or vacation in Japan
